Lumaara began with two best friends, countless cups of coffee, and one simple question: Why were we always drawn to cotton?

Neither of us came from the fashion industry. We started with nothing but curiosity, learning everything through trial and error. We’ve always believed that to truly understand something, you have to understand the depth of it. So instead of simply choosing cotton, we began asking why.

The more we explored, the more we realised it was never just about the fabric itself. It was about the quiet sense of comfort it gave us the way it made us feel lighter, calmer, and more like ourselves. We often say it’s the feeling, or the energy, a fabric carries for us. And perhaps that’s why our mothers and grandmothers instinctively reached for cotton, generation after generation.

That thought became the foundation of Lumaara.
